Rural Maternity Care Research

Welcome to the webpage for the Centre for Rural Health Research, home of The Rural Maternity Care New Emerging Team (RM-NET). We are a Centre of academic and community-based researchers, policy makers, administrators and other key stakeholders working together to achieve a comprehensive understanding of rural health services in British Columbia and have focused on rural maternity care services to date.

Our goals are to:

  • Investigate the state of health services in rural BC from multiple perspectives;
  • Improve understanding of the consequences for British Columbians trying to access, provide and administer health services in rural BC;
  • Provide evidence-based research to affect policy and practice decisions for health services in BC; and
  • Support research that is relevant to rural BC communities.
